Great Tips for Beginner Photographers

September 23rd, 2007 by Os

Digital Photography School has some great tips for anyone thinking of dipping their toes into photography. Some of my favorites tips are:

1. Keep your camera with you all the time. - I carry my camera with me all the time. I need ALOT of practice and carrying my camera everywhere allows me to find precious gems like this little kitty:

2. Don’t go crazy buying the most expensive equipment right away. - My fiancee can definitely vouch that I spend way too much money on photography already. However, I still recommend that you buy the best equipment that your budget allows for. If you can afford a Canon 40D by all means go for it. Otherwise, consider the cheaper alternatives like Canon 400D or Nikon D80. After all, pictures come from the photographer and not the camera.

3. Consider a tripod. - Next thing on my To-Buy list. Tripods are necessary for indoor and low-light photography. Some of the best hours of photography are during dawn and dusk. You’ll need a tripod if you want your photos to be tack sharp.
